Ahmad Yari and friends visit patients at the General Hospital, Talata Mafara

Ahmad Abdulaziz Yari and a group of his peers visited patients at the General Hospital in Talata Mafara, Zamfara State, bringing prayers, comfort and hygiene packages during celebrations around his brother's wedding.

The September 2025 visit extended the spirit of the family occasion to patients in Ahmad's hometown. The group spent time on the wards, offered their sympathies and prayed for the recovery of those receiving care.

Including the community in a family celebration

The visit grew out of a wish to give back to the community during the wedding celebrations. Ahmad and his peers wanted patients to know that their difficulties were recognised and that people outside the hospital cared about their wellbeing.

That intention gave the engagement a direct and personal character. Alongside the celebration taking place within the family, the group made time for residents whose days were being spent in hospital. Their support combined practical items with the attention of a visit.

Talata Mafara is Ahmad's hometown. Visiting its General Hospital brought him into a community institution serving people from the area and gave the group an opportunity to spend time with patients close to home.

Time on the wards

Most of the patients the group met were women and children. Ahmad and his peers offered sympathy, prayed for recovery and gave each patient they visited a comfort and hygiene package.

The packages accompanied the personal interactions. The engagement was about being present with patients as well as bringing items that could offer comfort during their stay. Prayers and words of support formed part of the visit throughout.

The occasion centred on those receiving care. It brought the visitors into contact with people experiencing illness at a time when the family was celebrating, giving the day a broader sense of community connection.

Community support close to home

The hospital engagement is part of Ahmad's involvement in community welfare and empowerment. These interests include support for people facing hardship and participation in community activities, alongside his work with young people through separate sports and grassroots organisations.

The purpose of the visit
