Strictly necessary: staff sign-in
Members of the office who sign in to manage the website receive cookies that keep them signed in securely and protect their session. These cookies are only set on the administration area. They are never set for visitors to the public website.
Functional: form drafts
Some longer public forms save your unsent answers in your browser's local storage, so that you do not lose them if the page reloads or you step away. This information stays on your device, is not sent to us until you submit the form, and is cleared when you submit it.
Analytics: only when switched on
The office may switch on analytics to understand how the website is used, for example which pages are read most and which devices people use. When analytics is switched on, the website loads one or both of the following services, which set their own cookies:

If a page embeds content from another service, such as a film hosted elsewhere, that service may set its own cookies when the content loads. Films on this website are normally served from our own storage and set no cookies.
5. Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. The public website works fully without cookies. If you block local storage, forms will still work, but unsent answers will not be saved if the page reloads.
Most browsers also let you turn off analytics tracking, and Google provides a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics.
