Ahmad Yari joins the Governing Council of the City Boy Movement

Ahmad Abdulaziz Yari has been appointed an Executive Board Member of the Governing Council of the City Boy Movement, adding a national organisational responsibility to his work in youth engagement, community support and grassroots participation.

Following the August 2026 appointment, Ahmad was received at the movement's offices, where he met members and addressed young people about their place in the organisation.

Joining the Governing Council

The City Boy Movement was founded by Seyi Tinubu as a platform bringing young Nigerians together and encouraging participation in the country's future. Ahmad joins its Governing Council as an Executive Board Member.

The appointment places him within the movement's leadership. The reception at its offices gave him an opportunity to meet members in that capacity and engage directly with young people involved in its activities.

A wider interest in youth engagement

Ahmad's involvement with young people also includes sport and grassroots organisation. He serves as Patron of Yari Sport Initiative, which aims to discover talent, connect athletes with coaching and training, and create opportunities for participation through organised sport.

As National Convener of Yari Messengers, he works with the movement's National Executive on organisational structures and the coordination of grassroots activities across the Northern states. These responsibilities provide different settings for his interest in participation and opportunity.

The City Boy Movement role is a separate appointment. Each organisation retains its own purpose: sports development within YSI, grassroots mobilisation within Yari Messengers, and an Executive Board responsibility within the City Boy Movement.

Community ties in Zamfara

Ahmad is from Talata Mafara in Zamfara State. Alongside his organisational responsibilities, his community engagements have included time with patients at the town's General Hospital and participation in empowerment activities.

Ahmad Abdulaziz Yari Foundation focuses on charitable empowerment and community support. Its remit remains distinct from the City Boy Movement and the other organisations in which Ahmad serves.

Welcomed by members

The welcome at the movement's offices followed the appointment and brought Ahmad into direct contact with members. His engagement with young people there reflected the movement's focus on participation and the responsibility he had taken on within its Governing Council.
