Massive Youth Turnout at the Gusau Rally for President Tinubu
Young people across Zamfara turned out in Gusau in solidarity with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with Ahmad Yari standing alongside them.
Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, recorded a massive youth turnout on Saturday, 26 September 2026, as young people from across the state gathered in solidarity with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope agenda. Hon. Ahmad Abdulaziz Yari joined them as an Executive Board Member of the Governing Council of the City Boy Movement.
A rally organised by Zamfara youths
The rally was organised by the young people of Zamfara themselves. It brought young people together from communities across the state, united by a shared wish to express support for the President and to show that the youth of Zamfara are ready to take their place in the nation's political life.
In the days before the rally, Ahmad called on the people of Zamfara to come out in unity and participation. The turnout in Gusau was the response. The young people who filled the state capital made a clear statement of commitment to the Renewed Hope agenda.
Ahmad Yari and the City Boy Movement
Ahmad was appointed an Executive Board Member of the Governing Council of the City Boy Movement in August 2026. The movement brings young Nigerians together around participation in public life and support for the Renewed Hope agenda. In Gusau, his role brought that national movement home to his own state.
Ahmad is from Talata Mafara in Zamfara West. His work with young people spans the City Boy Movement, the Yari Messengers, the Yari Sport Initiative and the community programmes of the Ahmad Abdulaziz Yari Foundation. The Gusau rally brought many of those relationships together in one place.
Recognition from Senator Yari
Senator Abdulaziz Yari, who represents Zamfara West in the Senate, applauded the turnout two days later. He described it as a remarkable demonstration of youth participation and support for President Tinubu, and said he was proud of Ahmad and of every young person who came out. The strength and valour of young people, the Senator said, give the nation confidence in the future.
Unity and peaceful participation
The rally was marked by a spirit of unity. Young people from different communities, backgrounds and local government areas came together peacefully to stand behind a common cause. That discipline is itself a message: that Zamfara's youth are organised, responsible and committed to a better future for the state and the nation.
Ahmad has long encouraged young people to channel their energy into constructive participation, whether through politics, sport, enterprise or community service. The Gusau rally was a strong expression of that approach, and a reminder that young people who are given a platform will use it well.
From Gusau to Kano
Ahmad's Saturday did not end in Gusau. From the rally, he travelled to Kano the same day for the launch of the Yari Sport Initiative, where he serves as Patron. The two engagements shared one focus: young people and the future they are building.
Why the turnout matters
Youth participation shapes the direction of any democracy. When young people organise peacefully, turn out in large numbers and state what they stand for, they strengthen the political process and hold a stake in its outcome. The Gusau rally showed the young people of Zamfara doing exactly that.
For Ahmad, the rally reaffirmed a conviction at the centre of his public work: that young Nigerians are ready to lead, and that their voices deserve to be heard. Watch the video to see the scale of the youth turnout in Gusau.
