Yari Messengers National Executive meeting

Members of the National Executive of Yari Messengers met National Convener Ahmad Abdulaziz Yari at his Abuja office to discuss stronger organisational structures, deeper grassroots engagement and coordination across the Northern states.

The strategic meeting brought representatives of the executive together with the convener as the movement prepared its grassroots work ahead of the 2027 political season. Their discussion focused on the organisation needed to take the message of the Renewed Hope Agenda closer to communities.

Strengthening the movement's structures

Organisational structures were a central concern of the Abuja meeting. The National Executive and National Convener considered how the movement's activities could be coordinated across the region, with grassroots engagement forming a connected part of that work.

The discussion linked leadership at national level with participation closer to communities. Strengthening the organisation, deepening engagement and coordinating activities were treated as parts of the same task: building an effective grassroots network.

Coordination across the Northern states

Yari Messengers works to take the Renewed Hope message to people across the Northern states. The meeting gave members of the National Executive an opportunity to engage directly with Ahmad on the movement's organisation and regional coordination.

Ahead of the 2027 political season, the emphasis was on stronger structures and committed participation at different levels. The Abuja engagement brought those priorities into a shared discussion between the executive and the convener.

Participation within communities

The movement's work also includes a strategic women's engagement focused on grassroots mobilisation, unity and collective action in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima. That gathering placed women's participation and closer coordination within their communities at the centre of the discussion.

The National Executive meeting addressed the wider organisational setting for this kind of engagement. Its focus was the movement's structures and the coordination of activities across the Northern states, while the women's gathering provided a distinct setting for dialogue and participation.

Ahmad's role as National Convener

Ahmad leads Yari Messengers as National Convener. His meetings with the National Executive concern the movement's own work and responsibilities. Yari Messengers is a grassroots political organisation, separate from Yari Sport Initiative and from the charitable remit of Ahmad Abdulaziz Yari Foundation.

The Abuja meeting centred on that organisational role. Members of the executive and the convener came together around the practical priorities of grassroots engagement, coordination and preparation for the coming political season.
